Melissa: Joe, thank you for meeting today for lunch. We have had a busy week running the operations of Money Mentality.
Joe: Yes, Melissa you are right we have had a busy week but we get a chance to have fun and change people’s lives.
Melissa: Yes, we do.
Joe: What are we talking about today?
Melissa: Well today is the first episode of Money Mental Messengers. I propose we discuss the origins of Money Mentality and Money Mentality Enterprises, LLC
Joe nods in agreement.
Melissa: We can start whenever you are ready.
Joe: Sounds great.
Melissa: Take it away.
Joe: I first want to start with the words Money Mentality. Let’s break those words up and provide definition for each word to give the audience context and where this episode is going.
Joe: Money is really fiat currency. Fiat currency is really a fancy word for saying that “what we currently call money” is really just paper and the worth is based on what we the people believe the paper is worth.
Melissa: Joe, elaborate on why you think “Money” is just paper?
Joe: Sure, in the past “real money” contained collateral in which it backed by precious metals usually gold.
Joe: Money or paper money as it sometimes called in society is an exchange medium for the products, services, and goods between two or more parties.
Melissa: What would be a good example of this exchange medium?
Joe: A good example of this would be the purchase of food. You arrive at a food establishment and order what you want. Right?
Joe: Usually before the company brings out the food you deliver money to them in exchange for the food that you previous ordered.
Joe: You decided that the food was very important at the moment that you ordered no matter the reason for the order. The exchange took place. You received the food and the food establishment received the money in exchange for the food delivered to you.
Melissa: And Mentality?
Joe: A mentality is a certain way of thinking that has been programmed and conditioned for a long period of time.
Melissa: How does Money Mentality tie together?
Joe: I refer to Money Mentality as a Psychological understanding of money on a foundational level.
Melissa: What does that mean in everyday language?
Joe: Simply put understanding how money really works and why certain mindsets are adopted can lead to making more money in half the time with half the stress.
Melissa: Sounds complicated, is all that really necessary.
Joe: Yes, actually your statement is one of the root problems why most never achieve their financial dreams.
Melissa: How is the possible? You sound very financially intelligent but money is easier to make than extensive study on understanding how money works.
Joe: Maybe, from your perspective and some of the audience members but I am pretty certain that the rich and successful understand the foundations when it comes to making more money.
Melissa: You may have point, some of us do have different opinions regarding money.
Joe: I have a simple example to explain to use the importance of taking the time to learn foundational money principles and concepts that make personal finance enjoyable and financial decision making easier.
Melissa: I’m listening.
Joe: What is the most important part of a house or process to home building?
Melissa: Most important as in the whole house?
Joe: Yes, the whole house.
Melissa: I would have to the roof or the door.
Melissa: Yes, why?
Joe: I am curious why you choose the roof or the door.
Melissa: Self-explanatory, the roof protects against the weather and the door protects the inside of the house including valuables.
Joe: Both are valid points but you clear missed the big picture.
Melissa: Which is?
Melissa: Well I guess you are right.
Joe: If the foundation on your house is not strong what do think will happen if severe weather strikes?
Melissa: Nothing good.
Joe: You’re not going to be worried about the roof or the door, the house will cave in because the foundation is weak.
Melissa: Well when you put it that way you are right.
Joe: We differ from other finance companies because we focus on the foundation and build up.
Melissa: That is a good way to differentiate our company from others.
Joe: Yes, other companies provide create advice and resources to help their client and potential clients to achieve their financial goals. Just like the house analogy no one is teaching the fundamentals.
Melissa: Now it is starting to make a lot sense.
Joe: I am glad now you are seeing the big picture.
Melissa: So, when it comes to mentality what is the big takeaway?
Joe: Your thoughts develop your mindset and your mindset determines your results. Rich and wealthy people know and understand financial concepts that the average person does. Finally, different mindsets produce different results.
Melissa: Joe thanks for summarizing our conversation today closing with those important reminders regarding mindsets and financial results.
Melissa: Thank you for tuning into today’s episode, that is all the time we have for today.
Joe: Yes, thank you for tuning in today, we look forward to providing more episodes in the near future.
Melissa: This Melissa and Joe signing off from Money Mental Messengers see you next time and enjoy your day.
