If God made everything, why would he want your money? Should all spirituality be FREE? If someone really believes that they represent God, do they need to volunteer their time and effort? Is it wrong to expect compensation in exchange for doing God’s work?
There are questions I get very often. I made a video on youtube explaining this more in depth. Click here to watch it https://youtu.be/3z4zWW2FJNY
In simple term, it is not God that wants your money, YOU want your money. In any decent relationship people are expected to give something they value to express their love and devotion. If your girlfriend expects you to buy her something, is it because she is in the relationship just for money? Not necessarily! She could simply want you to express your love to her, by giving her something YOU consider valuable.
In the bible two people that commit the same sin could be required to bring very different sacrifices. See Leviticus 4. A rich man was required to bring an expensive cow, while a poor man could bring as little as bit of flour. Neither of them receives a “bigger” atonement.
In simple words, if you really want to show your dedication to the almighty, you need to support a cause that the Almighty appreciates. Not only that, the contribution MUST be relative to your resources. Remember, God doesn’t want your money, YOU want your money! Think of what YOU value and give that to God. Don’t worry about God, he doesn’t need your money!
